More about Taylor Brewing

Many beers ago, Glenn Taylor and his sons, Gary and Steve, learned the art of home brewing beer in the basement of their family home. In the early 1990’s, Glenn who had been a CPA for 25 years, was looking for a change in pace. Part of his CPA experience came from doing books for an employer’s side venture. The name of this venture was The Assembly American Bar and Grill located in Hoffman Estates. Glenn loved spending time at The Assembly. It is the kind of place that is nostalgic because it is family run and has been there for more than 25 years. Much of the staff has been there over 15 years. It is quite reminiscent and truly held in time.

When Glenn started to entertain the idea of switching careers, he immediately thought about The Assembly and the fun he had with his sons brewing beer. The ideas merged and Taylor Brewing Company was born. Taylor Brewing was originally located in the old Krohler Furniture Factory (now called Fifth Avenue Station) in Naperville. It opened there in early 1994. One year later, the Taylors purchased The Assembly from Glenn’s long time friend.

It was in 1999 that Taylor Brewing Company was built in its current location on Butterfield Road. Glenn, with his wife Amy and his son Gary (and family), work together with a conscientious staff to create a place where you wish to return. We are grateful to our customers for the many years of loyal patronage. Like The Assembly, we too intend to be a part of the lasting memories you create with your loved ones, friends, and co-workers. We hope you enjoy your visit.
